Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about applying by voice

Getting Started

Do I need to download an app?

No. Everything works in your web browser on any device — phone, tablet, or computer. Just click the link and start.

Do I need to create an account?

No. You can apply immediately without creating an account. If you want to track multiple applications, you can optionally create a portal account later.

What do I need to get started?

Just a device with a microphone (most phones and computers have one built in) and a quiet place to talk for about 10 minutes.

Can I apply on my phone?

Yes! The experience is designed to work great on mobile. Many people apply while commuting or during a break.

The Conversation

Am I talking to a real person?

No — you're talking to an AI. We're completely transparent about this. The AI is designed to have a natural conversation about your experience and qualifications.

How long does the conversation take?

Most conversations take 6-10 minutes. It depends on how much you have to share and the specific role requirements.

What if I make a mistake or stumble over my words?

That's totally normal! The AI understands natural speech patterns. You can pause, correct yourself, or ask for clarification — just like in a real conversation.

Can I pause and come back later?

Currently, conversations need to be completed in one session. If you get disconnected, you may be able to rejoin depending on how the employer has configured the application.

What language does the AI speak?

The AI supports 11 languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, and Italian. The available languages depend on how the employer has configured the role — you'll see a language picker before your conversation starts if multiple languages are enabled.

What if I have an accessibility need?

Before starting the conversation, you can request accommodations like slower pacing or extra time. Let us know your needs and we'll adjust the experience.

Feedback & Improvement

What kind of feedback will I get?

You'll receive instant feedback on your conversation including: your strengths (what you did well), areas for improvement (specific tips), and recommended resources to help you improve your interview skills.

When do I get my feedback?

Immediately after your conversation ends. Unlike traditional applications where you wait in silence, you'll know how you did right away.

What are the "improvement resources"?

Based on your conversation, we'll recommend specific guides, tips, and resources to help strengthen your interview skills. These might cover topics like how to describe achievements, answer common questions, or communicate more effectively.

Is the feedback the same as what the employer sees?

The feedback you receive is tailored to help you improve. The employer sees a summary of your qualifications and fit for the role, not your improvement areas.

Can I use the feedback to improve and apply again?

Absolutely! The feedback is designed to help you get better at interviewing — whether for this role or future opportunities. Check with the specific employer about their policy on reapplying.

After You Apply

What happens after I finish the conversation?

First, you'll see your feedback and improvement resources. Then the AI creates a summary of your qualifications and sends it to the hiring team. Your application is submitted instantly.

How do I know if my application was received?

You'll see a confirmation screen immediately after receiving your feedback. You can also track your application status in the My Applications portal.

Can I see what was sent to the employer?

Yes. You can access a summary of your conversation through the My Applications portal, along with all your feedback and resources.

Can I re-apply or update my application?

This depends on the employer's settings. Use the feedback to improve, then check with the employer about their reapplication policy.

Privacy & Data

Is my conversation recorded?

Yes, the conversation is recorded so we can create an accurate transcript and summary for the hiring team. This is disclosed before you start.

Who can see my application?

Only the hiring team at the company you applied to can see your application. We never share your information with other employers without your consent.

Is my data used to train AI models?

No. Your conversation data is never used to train AI models. Your information is only used to process your specific application.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. You have the right to request deletion of your data. Contact us through the My Applications portal or email us directly.

How long is my data kept?

Data retention depends on the employer's policies and legal requirements. You can request information about this through the My Applications portal.

Technical Issues

What if my microphone doesn't work?

Make sure you've allowed microphone access in your browser settings. Try using a different browser if the issue persists. Chrome and Safari work best.

The AI can't hear me. What should I do?

Check that your microphone is not muted, that you've granted permission in your browser, and that you're in a relatively quiet environment.

What if I get disconnected?

If you get disconnected during the conversation, try refreshing the page. Depending on the employer's settings, you may be able to continue where you left off.

Which browsers work best?

We recommend Chrome, Safari, or Edge for the best experience. Firefox also works but may have occasional audio issues.
